How we handle your data

Plain-English draft. Reviewed by the founder, not by a lawyer. Closed beta only. A formal policy will replace this before public launch.

What we collect

  • Your email, only for sign-in.
  • The basics you fill in during onboarding (name, age, location, gender, orientation, dating context).
  • Your non-negotiables, your Type Profile, your date cards, your slots, and your verdict.
  • Standard server logs (timestamp, route, IP, user agent) for debugging and abuse prevention.

What we do with it

  • We store your data in Supabase (Postgres) so the app can read it back to you.
  • We send your data to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate the Type Profile, slots, verdict, and Toolkit. Anthropic does not train on API traffic by default.
  • We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not share with brokers, marketers, or matchmakers.
  • We do not look at your individual data unless you ask us to help debug something. Aggregate, anonymized usage may inform product decisions.

Sensitive categories

The Lockbox asks about substance use, faith, and safety. The Type Audit may surface patterns related to past trauma. This content is sensitive. It lives in your row of the database, protected by row-level security so only you can read it. We strongly encourage anyone in active distress to seek qualified support; Stedi is a structured tool, not therapy.

Your controls

  • You can edit any data you’ve saved from your Profile.
  • You can delete your account from Settings. Deletion removes your rows from our database within 30 days.
  • You can opt out of any notification category from Settings.
  • You can export your data on request. Email hello@stedi.dating.

Where data lives

Supabase (US East). Anthropic API (US). Vercel (US). No processors outside the US currently. If you live in the EU or UK, treat this as data exported to the US under standard contractual clauses.

Changes

We’ll email you if material things change. Last updated: this page replaces the absence of a policy and is dated when Stedi first invited a user to sign up.
